Energy Manager FAQ
How does bill itemization analysis work?
Each appliance uses electricity in a unique manner – think of the usage like an appliance fingerprint. We detect and extract these “fingerprints” and convert the data into useful insights (bill itemization) and recommendations.
What happens if my usage changes?
Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. The insights we derive from your home’s energy use will change according to your actual usage patterns. Whether you buy a new appliance or have a new addition in the family, we’ll make sure you’ve got the most accurate and relevant usage estimates to review. Remember, to improve estimate accuracy, complete our Home Profile Survey.
Is my usage unique?
It sure is! The energy usage patterns derived from your smart meter, along with the information you provide in our Home Profile Survey, allows us to estimate what your home actually uses, per appliance or device – not what a ‘typical home’ uses. You’re not a statistic; we won’t treat you like one.
Using data from your meter and the information you provide in our Home Profile Survey, appliance and device categories that consume large amounts of energy are displayed to show an estimated holistic energy use profile. Track usage in each category throughout the year, to see how it changes with the seasons, the weather and the choices you make inside your home.
