Home Energy Audit
A home energy audit is the first step toward learning how your home uses energy and can help you prioritize improvement efforts.
A home energy audit is a comprehensive in-home energy evaluation – like a wellness check for your home. Audits are conducted by certified, third-party contractors that identify areas of concern and make personalized recommendations to improve a home’s overall efficiency, comfort and health.
Want to learn how your home is using energy?
Step 1: Complete our FREE Online Home Profile Survey
In this two-minute survey, you’ll provide information about the types of equipment used in your home. Your answers will allow you to get more personalized and accurate answers to how your home uses energy and what activities or appliances are driving your energy costs.
Step 2: See personalized usage insights with our FREE Energy Manager tool
This tool uses the information you provide in the Online Home Profile Survey to show you what’s using energy in your home and how much it’s costing you each month. Maybe someone in your family takes long showers, you find yourself doing a lot of laundry, or you have a lot of gaming equipment. Whatever it is, our Energy Manager tool can help you see what’s going on, so you can make personalized adjustments.
Looking for more ways to lower your home’s energy usage?
Sign up for Avista’s FREE Home Energy Audit Program
Qualified homeowners and renters can now receive a FREE home energy audit from Avista.
Auditors will visually inspect your entire home, from crawl space to attic, including appliances and mechanical systems. This includes a health and safety inspection and an infrared scan to help identify air leaks. With your permission, some energy saving improvements may be installed for you, at no additional cost. These improvements may include the installation of:
- Up to 20 LED light bulbs
- Two (2) water-saving showerheads
- Two (2) low-flow faucet aerators
Upon completion of the audit, you’ll know more about how your home uses and loses energy. You’ll understand how some simple fixes can improve its efficiency and how to approach the implementation of any suggested improvements.
