Large Load Service Request
Avista's Business Services team manages the largest and most complex of our commercial, industrial, and business customers across our service area. Processing large load requests is a dynamic process. As a regional utility, we are balancing the generation needs of serving over 400,000 customers while navigating an ever-changing policy environment, advances in technology, and market constraints out of our control.
In addition to the diverse mix of fuel we use to generate power, we also have long and short-term purchased power contracts in place and we purchase power on the wholesale market. It all adds up to a diverse energy mix that is always fluctuating. In the coming months, Avista intends to secure additional energy resources through a request for proposal (RFP) to increase the amount of electricity supply we can offer our customers.
The constraints on our capacity to accommodate new large load requests are continually adjusting. As we work through the process for scoping and evaluation of new projects, we will do our best to comply with the timelines identified below. We appreciate your interest in working with Avista. When you are ready to submit an application for a large load project, please fill out our large load request application form. We will send out notification within 3 business days upon receipt of application.
