Avista Midstream Discount FAQs: HVAC & Water Heating Equipment
How can customers participate in the midstream HVAC and water heating program?
Work directly with your preferred contractor to determine which qualifying high-efficiency equipment best suits your needs. Your cost will already include any applicable discounts, so you won’t have any extra paperwork to fill out. Please note, not all contractors and distributors have chosen to participate in the program and we always encourage getting at least three bids for any home project. If you’re unsure where to start, try our Find a Contractor Tool.
Does Avista still offer direct-to-customer rebates for HVAC and water heating equipment?
Our traditional direct-to-customer money-back rebates for HVAC and water heating equipment have been discontinued. However, we are still working to reduce the costs of high-efficiency equipment and make it easier to find when you need it. You will now work directly with your contractor to receive discounted equipment. This means you don’t have to worry about filling out rebate paperwork anymore because the savings will already be reflected in your purchase price.
Why did Avista change the program for HVAC and water heating equipment?
Many people were not aware of our programs or found the requirements and application process confusing. Also, when faced with replacing a water heater or home heating system, most people choose a product that is available, at a price point that best fits their budget, and that can be installed quickly. High-efficiency equipment is often difficult to find, back-ordered, or significantly more expensive, making it less appealing or not an option at all.
Our new approach encourages the stocking and sale of high-efficiency equipment, without requiring customers to complete any paperwork. Simply put, this approach will help more people make the choice to install high-efficiency heating and water heating equipment in their homes and businesses.
How can contractors participate in the midstream HVAC and water heating program?
Work with a participating distributor for availability and competitive pricing on qualifying high-efficiency equipment for your Avista customers. Although the program is open to all distributors, not all have chosen to participate.
