Avista Midstream Instant Rebates for Commercial Food Service Equipment FAQs
Avista’s commercial food service equipment rebate program is transitioning to a “midstream instant rebate model” from the current “downstream model” (both models are defined below). Current commercial prescriptive and site-specific rebate options for food service equipment will be ending on June 30, 2023.
To receive current rebate offers for the commercial food service equipment program, the appropriate rebate application and all supporting documentation must be postmarked or electronically submitted to Avista by June 30, 2023. Commercial site-specific (custom) projects must be under contract by June 30, 2023, to receive current offers.
All other rebate program offerings and information can be found at myavista.com/getrebates.
Avista’s current rebate programs utilize a downstream model, which relies on end-use customers or their contractors to submit paperwork to us to apply for a rebate. In a midstream instant rebates model, rebate paperwork and submission requirements are placed upon distributors, instead of end-use customers.
On eligible high-efficiency food service equipment, distributors apply applicable instant rebates directly to the customer’s purchase, removing the requirement of paperwork. Rebates are applied as a discount directly on the customer’s invoice.
As a utility, Avista is required to support or offer cost-effective programs or opportunities that can help customers be more energy efficient. Midstream instant rebate models remove the burden of paperwork submission from the customer by providing an immediate discount on eligible products. The discount appears as a line item on the customer’s invoice.
Avista will continue to offer rebates to our commercial and residential customers. Ongoing prescriptive (standard) programs for residential and commercial customers can be found at myavista.com/getrebates. Our site-specific (custom) rebate program will also continue for commercial customers (contact your Account Executive to learn more).
