Current Avista Projects & Investments In Your Area

How we'll invest in communities in 2021

    Projected investments:

More than $22 million on major projects in 2021 across all three states we serve. This investment is part of Avista's 20-year natural gas replacement program, which started in 2012. The program focuses on replacing hundreds of miles of natural gas pipeline installed prior to 1987.

A short interruption of natural gas service may be required.

What to expect if you're a customer affected by a main pipe project
    • You'll see Avista-authorized contractor installing new natural gas pipelines in public right-of-way, streets, and alleys throughout your neighborhood. Crew members and equipment should be easily identified.
    • You'll receive a letter from Avista regarding the planned work. Avista’s contractor will attempt to notify you at least two days to one week before we begin construction in your area. Notification may be by telephone, door hanger, or door to door contact.
    • As work approaches your home or business, a crew member will attempt to coordinate directly with you to arrange the service interruption and gas service relight.
    • Service to impacted meters will be turned off for a short period of time while we’re working on the natural gas pipeline in your specific area. When service is restored, qualified Avista personnel will safely relight appliances, such as your water heater.
    • If we cannot access your home when we’ve completed work in your area, we will leave a door hanger with instructions to contact us to make arrangements to relight and restore your service.
    • Reconnecting your existing gas service to the newly installed gas main will require the crew to excavate in the public right of way approximately 5 to 10 feet behind the curb.
    • Work areas will be returned to current condition, or better, with minimal environmental disturbance.
