At Home with Lisa: Avista app

Last summer we had a power outage at my house. It happened early, before I began my workday. I needed power to work from home. The first thing I did was pull out my cellphone and opened the Avista app.

The app let me report the outage and see how many people in my neighborhood were affected by it. I could see when the crew arrived, and I could see an estimation of how long the outage was going to be. I set mine up to alert me of these things.

The app also has nifty little features like a place to pay your bill. It will notify you when you get a new bill. You can also check out your payment history. I’m often curious to see what my largest and my smallest bill is, so I can check to see it.

I can also find interesting articles through the app. During the month of January, I learned about cold weather and coffee, pilot light safety and other interesting bits of customer news.

The app is easy enough to find in the Apple App Store or on Google Play. It’s much easier to keep tabs on my account when I’m on the go.

Lisa, an Avista customer, bought her 1910 house because she loved the old-world character, some of which doesn’t make her house very energy efficient. Lisa is sharing her experience on taking some simple do-it-yourself improvements to inspire others to do the same. You’ll find her stories right here every Tuesday.
