On the Oregon Trail: Valley of the Rogue State Park

Warm, calm summer nights are almost upon us again. Let’s pack up and go camping. Valley of the Rogue State Park is an ideal place to set up camp for a night or a weekend, or even just for the day.

Valley of the Rogue offers 167 sites and 8 rustic yurts available by reservation. Yurts are currently not available to rent due to COVID, but when they are, they are a fun, different way to camp.

There are plenty of campsites available for all needs – big groups, pets allowed, ones with hookups, whatever your camping needs are, Valley of the Rogue probably has it. Reservations for campsites must be made at least one day ahead of arrival and can be made up to six months in advance.

The Valley of the Rogue State Park is a great choice for a weekend getaway. It is located along the shoreline of the Rogue River and offers stunning views. If you want to travel a bit more, the Park puts you close to Crater Lake National Park, the Oregon Caves National Monument, historic Jacksonville, Ashland’s Shakespeare Festival, or the Britt Music Festival. You can check out ziplines and rafting opportunities in the area, in addition to the many vineyards. The campground also intersects with the Rogue River Greenway Trail which gives you plenty of space to stroll around and soak up nature. You can also fish, raft, go boating, swim, hike, go on a guided walk, or just hang out in this fun, relaxing setting.

Make use of the amazing nature around us. For some of us, it may be right in our backyard.
