Efficiency matters

Avista has teamed up with KREM 2 and Toyota in support of energy efficiency. To help raise awareness, we’re giving you a chance to win a new energy-efficient Camry Hybrid SE from Toyota!

Energy conservation is good for all of us. Using energy wisely can help reduce costs and conserve our natural resources. Here are some energy saving tips for warm weather:

• Keep drapes and blinds closed during the day. Block out heat from the sun.
• Landscape with shade trees or vines or install awnings on south-facing windows to reduce heat from the outside.
• Turn your air-conditioning off in summer. Use box fans to keep cool.
• Remove, clean, and store window air conditioning units when possible; otherwise they will be conduits for cold air.
• Be sure your attic, walls, and crawlspaces are adequately insulted.
